Fortior Skittles Evening 2013
Fortior Lodge recently had a very successful skittles evening at the Fountain Inn in Clent, The food and hospitality at the Fountain Inn was as ever fantastic. We raised £650.00 for the following charities:
Sunfield Children’s Home £275.00
Sunfield is a national UK charity and residential special school, in Clent, it supports children and young people aged 6 -19 throughout England and Wales who have complex needs including autism.
The Malala Fund £275.00
The Malala Fund supports the education and empowerment of girls in Pakistan and around the world. It is named after Malala Yousafzai, the young girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban. It was a failed attempt to silence her — and her leading voice for girls’ education and the right of all children to go to school. She was treated and continues to recover, here in Birmingham at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Mercy Ships £100.00
This was a private appeal to help a local nurse who giving up her leave is going out to work on a mercy ship in the Congo. She has to pay for her own transport to the ship and inoculations etc and will have to pay out something in the region of £1,500.00.

Paul and Debbie wrote: “Just a quick note to thank you for your support, donations, raffle gifts, etc etc for a super event yesterday evening.
We believe that the charity donation to the ROH (Royal Orthopaedic Hospital) may even get to a £1000 — just brilliant!
Can you also pass on our thanks to all your guests and any others that we may not have reached.
Thanks to the Full Shabang for their fabulous entertainment — you were marvellous.
Thanks also to Tim Harrison for taking the photos. It would be great if you could all visit Tim’s website (www.ClearEventPhotography.co.uk) and view the photos taken and maybe order one or two from him on-line.
Also well done and thanks to The Abbey (www.theabbeyhotel.co.uk) for a great venue, fine food and drink, and superb staff who were very helpful and smiling all the way through.
Once again many thanks to you all and here’s to the next one!
Love and best wishes Debbie & Paul.”
